System Architecture

DT@Energy's system architecture is based on modern n-tier technology. Distributed computing and thin clients assure highly performing and multiple user environments.

The DT@Energy application with all its modules such as DT@Hydro-Thermal, DT@Forward, DT@Emissions etc. is hosted on application servers and is launched from multiple client workstations. The computing jobs, in particular the scenario generation, formulation and solution of the mathematical model are accomplished on multiple compute servers. Large scale optimization jobs are distributed on a number of compute servers using ILOG Parallel CPLEX. Finally, data storage and management is achieved on a separate Database server level. By default, DT@Energy uses Oracle 9.i as database platform.
